OUR BELIEFS

East Side Baptist Church Haskell holds to the biblical principles set forth in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

History of ESBC

East Side Baptist Church was born out of a revival meeting in August of 1923.  As a result of the meeting in the old Weaver School, the church was then called Weaver Baptist Church.  One year and one more revival later the congregation had grown from its original 28 charter members to a total membership of 97, with nearly half of those additions coming as the result of professions of faith accompanied by baptism.

In the summer of 1938, the church relocated to the east side of Haskell.  With a new location and a new name, the church continued to grow and be the light of the Gospel to the community.  As years passed, buildings changed, pastors came and went, and the people continued to be influential with the gospel in the surrounding area.  In times of rich blessing, difficult seasons and everything in-between, God has guided and provided for His people.  Leadership and ministries have varied, but the gospel has always been the core of East Side's identity.

With a rich heritage and promising future, ESBC will continue to have a tremendous impact for the Kingdom of God from the homes of Haskell, across the great state of Texas, and all around the globe.
